Mozart MagicArt

Published by bgthomas

Mozart MagicArt is Mozart for younger audiences. It’s Mozart full of pranks and nonsense, wit and brilliant music.

We meet Mozart himself, full of stories he is eager to tell and piano pieces he is keen to perform. Mozart has just returned from the Magic Flute where he played a trick on Papageno. He then engages the audience in a dialogue about his family, worries about his wife Konstanze, plays billiards, sells his horse, and finishes the clarinet concerto. He then relates the foibles of one of his students at her piano lesson and recalls the events from his youthful tours through Europe including a most ungrateful hostess and his mother’s death in Paris. Mozart ends with nonsense and an invitation to the opera.

Mozart MagicArt is a perfect way to introduce audiences to this incomparable master. The text is based on Mozart’s own letters and adopted and arranged to suit both young audiences and adults. The music is of course all Mozart.

Mozart MagicArt is available in German and in English.
