B.G. “Ben” Thomas loves to read. Romance, comedy, fantasy, thrillers, mystery, science fiction, horror, even the occasional Western. As far as he is concerned, as long as the stories are character-driven and entertaining, it doesn’t matter the genre. He has gone to literature conventions his entire adult life, where he’s been lucky enough to meet many of his favorite authors. He also likes non-fiction, especially when spiritually is the focus.

And Ben loves to write! He has made up stories since he was a child; it’s where he finds his joy.

In the nineties, he wrote for gay adult magazines but stopped because the fiction the publishers wanted was all sex without plot, and they edited the setups or romance right out his stories.

“What they do in bed is never as important as the characters,” he says. “Who cares what they are doing if we don’t care about them?”

That’s when heard about growing male/male romance market, where setup and cute meets and happily-ever-after endings are where it’s at. That’s what started him writing again. He submitted a novella and was thrilled when it was accepted in four days.

Since then the romantic tales poured out of him. “It’s like I was somehow making up for a lifetime’s worth of not telling stories!”

B.G. lives in Kansas City with his two husbands. Yes. Two. Which is different, but amazingly rewarding and wonderfully romantic. They are Noah and "RBear," because the latter likes his privacy. "You're the one who wanted to be a writer, not me." Please note he totally supports Ben's writing. And Noah is a writer himself.

They have two dogs named Willow and Aspen—who love to play and chase each other when they aren’t giving their Daddies lots of love—and three angel dogs watching over them: Sarah Jane, Oliver and Frodo.

He is also blessed to have a lovely grown daughter, and they love to hang out.

“Leap, and the net will appear” is his personal philosophy and his message. “It is never too late,” he testifies. “Pursue your dreams. They will come true!”
